The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions into the community.
SASSA will probably be rendering solutions such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency mentioned it is alarmed about the large amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The purpose of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a higher variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“That is due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no entirely functional office devoted to service the area daily. The assistance place designed for intervention encounters a higher inflow of potential beneficiaries, which makes it SRD hard with the office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional resources to allow the servicing of all buyers and maximize access to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
